RUSSIA-UKRAINE CRISIS
We are working to help the children in crisis while Ukraine is under attack.
Welcome to
New Beginnings
A UK-based charity dedicated to helping children in crisis.
In places of such despair, parents are often unable to care for their children.
Whilst in many countries, families and social services would turn to care centres as a solution, in places like Ukraine orphanages are sadly extremely under-funded and as a result they don’t have the food, facilities or management to look after their children.
“The drastic underfunding of care centres, orphanages and street shelters was causing children to end up living on the streets and in the sewers which kept them warm.”
A big thank you from us all at New Beginnings to everyone who has donated over the years - you’ve helped to give so many children a ‘new beginning!’
New Beginnings is run entirely by volunteers and 97% of funds raised go straight towards the causes we support, so every penny really does make a difference.
Opening the doors to Genesis House
In 2004 we were so proud to open Genesis House – a foster home in Ukraine which gives vulnerable children a place to call home, as well as support, life skills and an education.

Meet Pat & the New Beginnings team
New Beginnings was established in 2001 following a tale of true inspiration and perseverance by founder Pat Harrison MBE who fought against the Ukraine officials and government to open the doors of Genesis House, and later went on to be named Kiev’s ‘Woman of the Year’.
